AUHOMERUN
AUHOMERUN is a program that was created by a brainstorm after seeing the new option on the Baseball Reference website. OK, I admit it, I stole it. Go ahead and sue me, I don't have anything to get.
The program uses the CSV dumps to get the information, so it will not be able to get the information from prior seasons unless you have used AUALMANAC to back them up or another program to back them up.
Instructions for use:
The program can be ran at anytime of the year to create the HTML pages. Just launch the program, select the league and hit the start button. The program will display each player it is working on as it is ran. When it is done, it will display a window with all the home runs hit during the current season. At the same time, some new HTML pages will be created. (Only if you select CREATE HTML). The files will be located in the NEWS/HTML/PLAYERS folder and will be named as follows:
AU_Player_817.html = the HR LOG for Player_817.
Only log files for players that hit home runs will be created. At the same time, if there is a player html page located in that folder, it will modify that file to put a link to the HR LOG file. If the player file has already been modified with the HR LOG link, it will be skipped, however, a new HR LOG file will be generated.
So, online leagues should first create the HTML files from OOTP, but do not upload them to your server yet. Run this program and create the log files and have it modify the HTML files. Then you can upload the league as usual and your GMS will be happy campers.
Database Option:
This is really not a database, but it is just making a copy of the games.csv file and the players_at_bat_batting_stats.csv file. It simply copies the existing two files and puts a AUXXXX_ in front of it. So, the 1975 file would become AU1975GAMES.CSV. So, you could simply copy those files from your AUALMANAC folders and rename them correctly.
NOTE: If you run the database option, you should do this AFTER the playoffs are over and BEFORE spring training of next year. I suggest that you do it before the end of the year though. Just make sure you do a current CSV dump before you run it.
So, when you run the log generator, it will first look for any AU files and add them to the log files, then it will do the current year. It will show the status as it is adding the records. It breezes through a season rather quickly, but if you have 20 or more seasons, it may take a few minutes to do.
The pitcher links and the team links in the log files will work, if the files exist. The OOTP menu at the top is also working, so the log files blend right into the html pages smoothly. The log files also use the style file, so if you have modified colors, then this page should also be changed accordingly.
Please visit my OOTP website at www.planetootp.com for a list of my programs and also scan the MOD forum, you will find all of the links there. It will also make you feel good if you click on that DONATE button and send me donations for my hard work.
