The next screen, shown below, you only need to make one change here. Remove the check mark for Recalculate player ratings before each season using real stats. Since there are no real players, you do not want to use this option. Things will go whacky on your if you do. You do want to make sure that the Autoexpand, expansion draft and enable import of financial settings are on.
At this point, you can go ahead and click the START button to create the league. Once the league is done, we need to do a few things. First, we need to go to GAME OPTIONS go to the page that displays these options. You want to remove the option that automatically imports historical rookies. You also may want to pump up the number of amateur draft rounds. I am trying 10 with this league. That means that each team will get 10 players each. That is, each franchise, and of course, that number may vary if they lost any picks to to free agency compensation.
The next screen you need just verify that the settings match what is shown here. You can change the Foreigner option to whatever you desire. I am setting it low early on, then in the 1950s, I may pump it up a few more percent.
