AULogo
A Program by Larry Anderson
What does the program do?
The program can be used to make it very easy to a your league. No more renaming files, deleting files, etc. Pick from thousands of custom logos to use for your teams and leagues.
CREDITS:
I want to thank personally all of the people out there in the community that have created the logos. I will be adding a credit list to the program.
The people that create these logos are very talented and without them, this utility would not be possible.
How often do I update the photos?
As soon as I get them, I try to upload them. I occasionally find a set and add it. It just takes a few minutes to update, so hit the DOWNLOAD button every couple of days. You may get lucky.
How do you use it?
It is very easy. Just install it and run it. Once you install it, you can run it from your START menu or create a shortcut on the desktop to run it. Every time the program is launched, it checks for a new version and allows you to download the new version.
The very first time using it, you will want to download the LOGO file. This will take about 3-5 minutes with a high speed connection. It will just download ones that you do not have. So, if I add logos to the collection, you can check and download the new ones quickly.
You could also just create a folder called LOGOS inside the AU2006 folder. This is what the program mainly uses to get logos. You can add logos manually to this folder anytime you want or even rename or delete files.
The proper format is Team_name.png for teams and League Name.png for the name of the league.
Please note that the team names use _ instead of spaces. The league name will use the actual name with the spaces.
JPG is NOT supported by my program.
Let's load a league.
Click on LEAGUE then LOAD and you should be shown a list of all the games in your system.
Did you get an error saying that you did not create the CSV file? OK, close the program and then go into the OOTP game and open your league. Now go to DATABASE and select CREATE CSV file.
OK, did it not show your leagues or error? Create a file called path.txt containing the path to your OOTP game,
I.E.. C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\OOTP Baseball 2006\
Be sure and include the trailing backslash.
OK, once you load the league, you can click on any team to see it's logo. To change it, hit the CHANGE LOGO button and browse for the logo you want. It is a standard windows browsing dialog, so you can change the view to thumbnails and search your hard drive. Once you click OK, it will be added to the league.
You can also hit the AUTOLOGO button. This will prompt you for a folder to search in. It will find and copy over any matching logos. So, if your team is called the Orlando Grapes, then it will copy over the Orlando_grapes.png file, if it exists.
Fuzzy Search
Fuzzy search uses the team's name to search. So, if the team was BOSTON RED SOX. It would show you all of the logos that contained BOSTON, RED or SOX. It will show you one at a time and give you a chance to accept it, check out another one or cancel the search for this team. If the first word in the team name is SAN, NEW or LOS, it will not include it in the search.
You can also click to tell it NOT to use the first name in the search. This is handy if you have a team called Orlando Lizards. It will skip any ORLANDO matches and just find ones that match LIZARDS. Note that a team with two or words in their first name, I.E. New York Yankees, the first word is considered NEW.
Saving a Set
When you hit the saving a set button, you get to save a set. Makes sense. A set is your leagues logo collections. This includes all the team logos and the league logo. It creates a folder and saves the photos there. As simple as that.
Now, you can treat this set as a logo collection. So, let's say you had a historical 1957 league. You setup your league with nice logos. You save the set as MLB 1957. Now, you create a new league that starts in 1959. Since the teams are the same, you can use AUTOFACE using the MLB 1957 folder and your entire league is done in seconds. Let's say that in 1958 the Giants changed names and was not the Los Angeles Dodgers. Well, when you imported in, all the teams would have gotten a logo except for LA, so you go and add a logo for them. Save the set as MLB 1958.
TECHIE STUFF
If you want to locate the main logos to another drive, create a file called drive.txt and put in the C:\AU2006 folder. As long as you leave the txt and the ini files in the C:\AU2006 folder, then you can move the logos to the drive specified. The drives.txt file MUST contain a single letter, like D or Y or X.
If you get an error that shows the path information as being in correct, this is a problem with the install of OOTP. You can create a file called c:\AU2006\path.txt to override this problem.
